HHRA Website Registration
If you have already created a login account with HHRA, then you do not need to go any further on this page.   Log me in!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
To be able to view and use the various forms on this website you need to have the Adobe Flash Player plugin installed on your computer. Recent usage statistics indicate that 99% of internet-enabled personal computers in "mature" markets have Adobe Flash. Nonetheless, if all you see are the words, "Form object" where the form should be (for example, the registration form at the bottom of this page), then either Flash Player is not installed on your computer, or it has been disabled. To install the free player, click the Adobe Flash Player graphic below. Once at the Adobe site, you should (a) be sure to select your operating system (default is 'Windows,English') and (b) it is highly recommended that you UN-select any checkbox(es) for the "Free Google Toolbar" and/or "Free McAfee Security Scan", or the like—"free" stuff often includes free undesired consequences or functionality!

HHRA website registration
We value our communal privacy, and to that end we are anxious to ensure that only Hangman Hills residents and/or owners are given access to the full website content. Since you are at this page, we assume you wish to register with HHRA so that you may enjoy comprehensive site access.

A note to renters
Some of the site content has been identified by the Board for access only by owners. Therefore, if you are a renter you will find your access to some of the content restricted by means of site-wide permissions settings. Don't panic—if you can't access something, it's probably a consequence of your ownership status.

Eligibility requirements
To qualify for website access you must:
  1. be a Hangman Hills resident and/or property owner; that is, your domicile or property must be in either Hangman Hills Addition or Hangman Hills First Addition;
  2. be a member in good standing (HHRA annual dues, etc);
  3. have a hangmanhills.org email account;
  4. fill out and submit the electronic form at the bottom of this page.
Good grief! How do I set up a hangmanhills.org email account?
It couldn't be any easier—you don't have to do anything! The registration process includes automatic creation of your own personal email (webmail) account that is hosted on the hangmanhills.org server under the username established during the registration process. Your resulting webmail address will be:

(your HHRA username)@hangmanhills.org

which you can then access by going to webmail.hangmanhills.org and taking it from there. Your webmail username and (initial) password will be the same ones established during your HHRA website registration process—however, the username you need to enter at the webmail site must include "@hangmanhills.org". For example, let's say your hangmanhills username is "trust.me", then your webmail login username is "trust.me@hangmanhills.org". To ensure your privacy, we suggest that you access your webmail account options (go to My Account > Password) and change your webmail password at your earliest convenience.

Another feature of your HHRA webmail account is that you will be automatically entered into the hangman hills alert list. This is a group emailing list that facilitates global communication of urgent, time-sensitive issues or announcements of mutual interest.

Now, here's what's really cool—if you already have a personal email address, and you list that email address on the registration form, we'll automatically forward your new hangmanhills.org webmail to your existing personal email address, unless you indicate otherwise by un-checking the "forward my hangmanhills.org webmail" checkbox. This means that the whole email thing will be completely transparent to you and you can forget about all the stuff discussed above—our email communications via your hangmanhills.org webmail address will automatically be forwarded to your existing personal email address!

Your hangmanhills.org webmail account will be active and available ONLY as long as you remain an HHRA member in good standing.

A word about forwarding your webmail: if you allow your email to be forwarded, you will be assured of timely receiving any email alerts the HHRA board may issue.

Sounds complicated. Why do I have to do it?
First, it's really not complicated at all—it's totally transparent to you. Second, by doing so the HHRA Board is guaranteed of having a consistent electronic means of communicating with anyone who registers for site access. This greatly simplifies the operational side of things for us.

What to expect
After submitting the Registration Request Form, a vetting process will be conducted by the HHRA web committee. Your information will be verified, and only then will your requested login username and password be processed for the website access database (and complimentary hangmanhills.org webmail account).

In order to comply with system opertional constraints, your requested username and password must meet certain criteria. See the appropriate sections below. Once we have entered your (unique) login to the server access database, you will be notified via email or telephone of your finalized login and that you are ready to go.

Username requirements and limitations
As you will have noticed above, your username is used to construct your HHRA webmail account. Because of this, usernames must adhere to the requirements and limitations of the email system on our server. There is no practical length restriction, but there ARE limitations to what characters you can use. The only allowed characters for usernames are:

Allowable Username Characters
  1. any alphanumeric character (a-z, A-Z, 0-9)
  2. dash (-)
  3. dot (.)
  4. underscore (_)

Because they are used to construct your HHRA webmail account, usernames must also be UNIQUE. In the event your requested username already exists we will revise it by appending a number, to render it unique.

Password requirements and limitations
To control site access the hangmanhills.org server utilizes standard access management methods and protocols. Access is rendered as part of the HHRA website registration process. Unlike the username character limitations, there are no restrictions on what you use for your password FOR WEBSITE ACCESS (see the nuances below, under Forum access password considerations). That being said, the email server does require that PASSWORDS MUST CONTAIN A MINIMUM OF 5 CHARACTERS. Please note that strong passwords include a mixture of upper and lower case letters plus numbers, and are at least 6 characters long. Basic security and common sense dictate that YOUR PASSWORD MUST NOT BE THE SAME AS YOUR USERNAME. If your password does not meet the minimum requirements, we will append an appropriate number of letters from your last name in order to render 5 characters, and advise you of such in our confirming email. If your password is the same as your requested username, we will ask you to come up with a different password.

Forum access password considerations. Yet another thing to consider is your access to the very powerful forum that resides on the HHRA site. In order to register for forum access, you need to establish a user name and password for that, too. It is recommended that you use your website username—less to remember, on your part! Same thing for the password. However—and this is a big HOWEVER—the forum's password requirements are far more rigorous than the website's password requirements. For example, the forum password must be between 6 and 100 characters long, and contain both mixed case letters and numbers. So, forewarned is forearmed. If you want to use the same forum login as that for the website, be sure to adhere to the forum's password requirements.
